The John C. Murphy Memorial Library subscribes to several online resources in order to provide free access to current students and staff. Our online resource collection includes databases of articles (many of which offer full text version of the entire article to be read online), image repositories, reports, and electronic books. Many of these online databases are available from home. You will need a valid CLC ID number to access them (current Student, Faculty, or Staff members only).Need Help with Online Resources?

Teaching Support
Request an instruction session for your class
Library instruction gives your students the research skills they need to succeed in your class. This instruction can vary to include:- A full session (45 minutes) covering a variety of research sources and strategies in our classroom or yours
- A "Bib lite" - a brief session in your classroom on a particular database or research tool
Reserves
When materials (books and audiovisuals) will be used by a large number of students during a semester, it is recommended that they be placed on reserve at the Circulation Desk. The instructor chooses the loan period of one week, two days, or two hour room use only. To reserve items call the Circulation Desk at x2619.Borrowing
Faculty ID's can serve as library cards once they are activated for library use. This enables you to:- access the library's databases from off-campus
- borrow books and other items for 30 days
- arrange a one time renewal by calling x2619
Audio Visual materials
Audio-visual Services maintains all non-print materials that are part of the Library's collection. This includes language, accounting, and telecourse tapes, as well as selected software for the LRC computer lab. To ensure that an item is available for the day and time it is needed, book it in advance by calling the Circulation Desk at x2619.Requesting items for purchase
Faculty are strongly encouraged to recommend books and other materials for Library purchase, especially as they relate to their class, and program objectives. Each librarian has a subject specialty and works with individual faculty members and departments in order to strengthen the Library collection.
